CCA is currently developing a communications strategy to improve our message dissemination both to our members and the general public. As an officer, I have already been working closely with colleagues on this process, and I want to update you on where we are and where we I hope to take the association.
Press – as most of you will know my day job is working as our MP’s Senior Policy and Communications Advisor, I have therefore developed a close working relationship with press officers and the local/regional journalistic pool. CCA is currently working at improving our lines of communication with these partners to ensure we can succinctly release our message and counter the releases put out by our political rivals.
Online – CCA currently runs two Facebook pages and we recently re-launched our Twitter page. These are slowly developing a following and traction. Here is where all of you can help. Please follow, like and share posts put out by the Association, councillors, and our MP.
Membership Comms – Our new, and brilliant, DC Political, Danielle, has spearheaded the monthly CCA Newsletter which is growing in content and readership. This is a fantastic project that I fully support through additions of content, editing, and asset creation (the graphics).
There will be more things we can do and are doing, but the above is a short summary – all of which will become increasingly useful as we move into election seasons.
I am very much looking forward to working with our new chair and my fellow officers.
Lastly, I also wanted to say if any of you have ideas, suggestions or you want to write an article or think of anything we’re missing please email in. Communications is a two-way street, and I want to hear from you.
