I was born and brought up in this great part of West Sussex and was educated locally before going on to obtain academic qualifications in both Law and Ancient History & Archaeology. With my family home in the local area, I care about our community.
I have supported many vulnerable people whilst volunteering at the Riding for the Disabled Association, Citizens Advice and more recently in my current role working for a Member of Parliament. I have a proven track record of navigating local and central government whilst tackling issues concerning highways, schools, health and social care, crime, and the environment.
As part of the newest, most populated and most economically active of all our National Parks, we are a unique community. My job as your local County Councillor will be to listen to you and ensure that your voice is heard.
By drawing on the combined resources of our Conservative MP, our Conservative led District Council and the high quality skills of our County and District officers and staff, we will ensure that a Conservative West Sussex County Council continues to rise to the challenge of providing local services of the highest quality.
■ Supporting our Businesses
In order to get businesses back on their feet and to achieve a sustainable recovery post Covid-19,
I will ensure that businesses, employers and the self-employed get maximum support from the County Council.
■ Funding our Schools
To get our students’ education back on track, I will make sure that our schools get the full benefit of the new government funding.
■ Protecting our Environment
To reduce air pollution and traffic congestion, I will support the roll-out of additional electric vehicle charging points and the development of local cycling and walking infrastructure.
■ Fixing our Roads
Potholes are not just a nuisance, they are a hazard. I will ensure that our area gets its full share of WSCC’s £170 million new investment in road repairs and safety improvements.
■ Supporting our Young & Elderly
I will work to ensure that the County Council continues to invest in our social services, supporting vulnerable children and families in need as well as caring for our elderly.
Tackle the local impact of Covid-19 and with the NHS at our side, build on the successes of the County Care Hub and the
vaccine roll-out.
Work hard to reduce persistent flooding, increase tree planting and encourage rural conservation. Working with local parishes and districts, we will seek grants under the Watershed Fund.
Tackle dangerous and anti-social driving including speeding, racing and noise on the A272 and other country roads by working alongside the South Downs Safer Roads Taskforce and Sussex Police.
Cut rural Crime, everything from drugs, domestic abuse and burglary to livestock worrying, fly tipping and dog napping by working with the Rural Crime Unit based in Midhurst. Together we will seek to implement additional police patrols and quicker response times.
